Taste of Wynn started a new retail concept; A distinctive culinary boutique concept paying homage to the many star chefs of the restaurants at Wynn Las Vegas & Encore. The store was filled with gourmet ingredients, cooking tools, gifts & tabletop accessories personally selected by the chefs, and/or items we developed together. The retail store allows guests to experience the award-winning restaurants by taking a piece of them home. An extensive part of this process involved conceiving the concepts for retail, & also seeking out the right brand collaborations & partnerships to help execute the vision.
Items ranged from large & extravagant, like an exclusive samarai sword (a hobby of one of the chefs), to a special gnocchi paddle, favored by one of the chefs; Or the Rolls Royce of prosciutto slicers, the same as used in the kitchen of a fine Italian restaurant, to the macdaddy of all grills, used at the Steakhouse. Also for sale, the sexiest steak knives, complete in a sleek wooden box, engraved with the steakhouse logo; Or a chef’s favorite Olive Oil, or a chef’s signature Ketchup that created buzz in his restaurant. Various gourmet ingredients were also branded & packaged with the chef’s name & restaurant, for Taste of Wynn.
I also designed & developed many unique products from scratch, such as Taste of Wynn coasters with engraved cocktail recipes, branded Bar Tool Sets that roll up for easy mobility or a Bar Case that carries like a briefcase; to everyday items you use at home, like a spatula with a TOW logo on its handle; or a recipe gift box with each chef’s favorite recipes, put together with beautiful photography. Unique tabletop items from the restaurants used to serve signature dishes were packaged together in specially designed sets I created for retail.
Product was showcased in the store within each chef’s section. 12 chefs and their restaurants were represented in the store, in 12 floor to ceiling shelved sections, with each chef’s portrait proudly hanging above their section. There was even an embroidery station where customers could embroider their own chef’s hat or jacket on the spot. . In addition, I developed branded packaging representing the chefs, their restaurants and Taste of Wynn, for final presentation at retail.
